SOLAR TRANSITS: Gate 28, The Game Player Human Design with Ruth Brennan

The Introduction to this series and links to all of these posts can be found here. Gate 28 plays a crucial role in our lives as it governs our approach to games, challenges, and competitions. It represents the innate desire within us to engage in playful activities and test our abilities. This gate encourages us to embrace the spirit of competition, not only to win but also to learn and grow from the experience. In terms of career, individuals with Gate 28 often find fulfillment in roles that allow them to explore the deeper aspects of life. They may be drawn to philosophical, psychological, or spiritual pursuits that provide opportunities for deep introspection and understanding.

All Splenic Fears are in-the-moment fears that feel so real they can stop us in our tracks and keep us from moving forward. But we are meant to simply push through them because they are not truly survival-related fears. They quickly dissipate when moved through, often never to return again (though it may take a few times of “doing” your fear to banish it permanently).

Human Design Gate 7 Explained

Understanding the value of healthy boundaries in relationships, and how they can strengthen and underpin bonds within a tribe. The energy of this gate is about respecting and valuing resources, and managing our needs for them. The gate of skills is the energy guiding your purpose in life, which lies in loving the work you do. The energy for listening and using this skill to deeply connect with others. Highly empathetic and compassionate individuals with the capacity to hold space for others, who often respond with a compulsion to share their secrets. At the beginning of a new venture, this gate brings order to chaos in the form of organisation, and the energy to see a project through to completion.

The largest portion of my growth thus far has come through realizing there is no escaping this energy. It's an extremely powerful force, and I must become the storm in order to not get thrown around by it. This can also be a time for getting deeply in touch with and appreciating what brings meaning and purpose to your life. Therefore, it is essential to tap into the potential of your design through STRATEGY AND AUTHORITY. As a CONSEQUENCE, you will unleash the potential of each gate in your individual design. But this can only be done mechanically through your individual strategy and authority and not mentally.

By embracing fear and using it as a guiding force, individuals with Gate 28 can navigate through life's uncertainties with confidence and resilience. As with any gate in the Human Design system, Gate 28 brings its unique set of challenges. The depth of introspection and search for meaning can sometimes lead to feelings of isolation, despair, or frustration. This is because the search for meaning often involves grappling with existential questions and personal struggles.

The search for depth and meaning can sometimes lead to challenges in relationships. For instance, people with Gate 28 may have high expectations for their partners and relationships, which may not always be met. It’s important for these individuals to communicate their needs clearly and also to understand that not all relationships can or should meet all their existential needs. People with Gate 28 active in their Human Design tend to seek relationships that allow them to explore life’s deeper meanings together.

And when we are transforming our shadows into light, when we are facing the deepest darkest parts of ourselves, we are letting go of attachments. It’s one of the reasons I love Human Design so much – it is like a fast track to the shadows that are in desperate need of our attention, acceptance, and unshakeable love. I held space for the kind of darkness that most people don’t even know exist.

In the meantime, be sure to also check out my post on how to make Human Design affirmations work. On the “negative” end of the spectrum, Human Design Gate 28 is the fear of dying before “finding” or fulfilling a purpose in life. It avoids stillness, silence, and slowing down and attempts to dispel fear with risky behavior. It can easily find itself lost in depression, hopelessness, purposelessness, and meaninglessness.

Gate 31 – Leading / Democracy

They have a drive to dive deep and may make drastic changes in their lives in their search for deeper understanding and purpose. The Gate 28, known as the Gate of the Game Player, is found in the Spleen Center of the Human Design system. This gate carries the energy of struggle and the desire to delve deep into the meaning of life. It seeks to understand the purpose of individual struggles and life as a whole, hence, often creating intense life experiences. In conclusion, the energy of Gate 28 can lead to deep, meaningful relationships marked by mutual exploration of life’s deepest questions.

Ultimately, we will spontaneously meet and confront our own fears of death one at a time. Those who carry this gate have the energy needed to redirect the self-absorbed nature of people with Channel by prodding them to make their intuitive knowing available to themselves and to others. To raise the frequency of Gate 28's energy, it is helpful to become intimate with the fear of death and seek out its wisdom. By acknowledging and understanding this fear, individuals can cultivate a supportive relationship with it, allowing them to navigate life's challenges more effectively. This involves embracing the inevitability of death and using it as a reminder to live life to the fullest, appreciating every moment and pursuing what truly brings meaning and fulfillment.

Each specific gate relates to its corresponding hexagram, and they’re also said to be linked with a specific codon. Everybody has a maximum of 26 activated gates out of the total of 64, though it’s common to have more than one activation in the same gate. Gate 28 represents the daredevil within each of us, the part that is willing to push boundaries to find meaning, even if it means courting danger.
